FAQs
Do you dry the hair after?
1
While we do provide a blow dryer for guests who would like to use one, we typically recommend avoiding heat styling for 24 hours after your headspa treatment—similar to how you would care for your skin after a facial.
You are welcome to leave with towel-dried hair, a loose damp braid, or take your time using our blow dryer before leaving. Our goal is for you to leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and comfortable.
What services are pregnancy safe?
2
During the first trimester, all Avery Oasis services are considered pregnancy safe.
For guests in their second or third trimester, traditional headspa services are not recommended due to the extended time spent lying flat on the back, which many doctors advise avoiding later in pregnancy.
However, our expecting mamas can still safely enjoy our Hairplay Ritual and Sensory Sessions, as these experiences can be adjusted for comfort and positioning.
As always, we recommend checking with your doctor if you have any concerns prior to booking.
Can you perform services on extensions, braids, or locs?
3
At this time, we are unable to perform headspa services on clients with extensions or braids. Because our treatments are heavily focused on the scalp and involve specialized tools and techniques, we cannot safely work around these styles without risking damage or disruption.
We recommend booking your appointment between move-ups, reinstall appointments, or re-braids for the best experience and results.
We are currently exploring safe and effective ways to accommodate clients with locs and hope to offer those services in the future. As soon as we do, we’ll be sure to announce it!
Can I talk during my appointment?
4
Absolutely! Your appointment is all about you and your comfort. If you’d like to chat during your experience, we’re always happy to talk and connect with you. If you’d prefer to relax in silence, we love that too and will happily follow your lead.
To help maintain the calm, relaxing atmosphere of the spa, we simply ask that conversations remain at a soft, comforting volume.
